The plates for this project will be cast, and the details hand fabricated. Shown are the casting master, and some of the gem bezel settings Once a mold of the master is made, duplicate waxes are produced for the lost wax casting process. with the waxes made, the master is finished for a mock-up of the design The cast sterling silver plates, with sprues still attached The soldering process With the plates soldered and pickled, they are lined up in preparation for soldering the hinges The finished pieces after the first run through the tumbler Antiqued and polished, these plates are ready to have the gems set and be assembled.
